So far, eight mass graves have already been found in the Kyiv Oblast. They contained the bodies of 148 civilians killed by Russian soldiers. The report came in a briefing by Maksym Ocheretyany, deputy head of the regional police in Kyiv.

The largest mass graves are located on the territory of Bucha district. Indications of torture can be found  on the bodies of those killed. Before death, people were blindfolded, shot in the knees, and had their hands tied. Most of them were killed with a shot to the head.

"Such acts of atrocity strike fear even into experienced police officers," says Maksim Ocheretyanoy.

In an attempt to hide the trail of their crimes, the occupiers threw the bodies of those killed into pits and covered them with dirt.

On May 3rd, Mikhail Podolyak, an advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrei Yermak, posted photos of one of these graves on his Twitter account.

"(Russia) chose the path of terror against the civilian population and must be recognized as a sponsor of terrorism" Podolyak wrote.

A total of 1,202 bodies were found on the territory of the Kyiv region.

Maksym Ocheretyanoy emphasized that this is only an interim figure. Together with their colleagues from the western regions of Ukraine, Kyiv police officers continue to check for more casualties in the de-occupied settlements.





RUSSIAN: 8 братских могил в Киевской области

Массовые захоронения под Киевом. Есть указания на то, что умерших пытали перед смертью.

На сегодняшний день в киевской области нашли уже 8 братских могил. В них находились тела 148-и мирных жителей, убитых русскими солдатами. Об этом на брифинге рассказал Максим Очеретяной – заместитель начальника областной полиции Киева.

Самые большие массовые захоронения находится на территории Бучанского района.  На телах убитых видны следы пыток. Перед смертью людям завязывали глаза, простреливали колени и связывали руки. Большинство из них было убито выстрелом в голову.

«Такие зверства вызывают ужас даже у опытных полицейских», – говорит Максим Очеретяной.

Пытаясь скрыть след своих зверств, оккупанты скидывали тела убитых в ямы и засыпали их землей.

Всего на территории Киевской области обнаружили тела 1202 людей.

Максим Очеретяной подчеркнул, что это лишь промежуточная цифра. Совместно с коллегами из западных регионов Украины, киевские полицейские продолжают проверку деоккупированных населенных пунктов.
